DVDs for Naturalists

Two of the DVDs listed here focus on places I consider "home" - Concord, Massachusetts and Cape May Point, New Jersey. John Huehnergard and I co-authored the Thoreau DVD and for both of us it was a labor of love. Our hours spent together in the footsteps of Thoreau were priceless. Cape May in fall is a naturalists' delight. My work with the Monarch Monitoring Project has permitted me to witness the migratory spectacle and share the companionship of some of Americas best naturalists for more than two decades. Every naturalist knows the treasures that await in the New World tropics. This DVD offers a sample of these wonders from Central America and for some, I hope, an irresistible temptation. They say that wisdom begins with the naming of a thing. Most naturalists are interested in being able to distinguish this fritillary from that, one damselfly from another, or a plover's call note from a yellowleg's whistle. The three DVD identification guides were designed by Greg Dodge and myself to help you with your learning. Follow the links to details and video exerpts from each DVD.
